Why Are Small Businesses Using AI?

AI tools help businesses save money on staff and free up more time. Even though AI helps a lot, business owners say they still need to check and control the work done by AI.

Jordan Crenshaw, a senior leader at the U.S. Chamber, said, “AI helps small businesses, which often don’t have as many resources, compete with larger companies.” This shows that AI technology can be a game-changer for small companies, allowing them to grow and stay strong in their markets.

How AI Tools Help Businesses Save Time and Money

For example, Randy Speckman, who runs a small web design company in San Diego, tried out several AI tools. He ended up using tools like Conversion.ai and Copy.ai to write blog posts, email newsletters, and social media updates. These tools saved his team a lot of time, allowing them to produce more high-quality content. Randy pointed out that even though AI creates the first draft, his team still needs to review and tweak it.

How AI is Helping Small Businesses Grow

The survey also found that 91% of small businesses using AI believe it will help them grow in the future. On top of that, 77% of small business owners plan to use even more new tech like AI and virtual worlds (the metaverse) to grow their companies.

Amanda Reineke runs Notice Ninja, a small business in Phoenix that helps manage tax notices. She used AI to create a platform that scans tax documents and automatically sends them to the right team member. Amanda believes AI makes things work faster, but humans are still needed for the important tasks.

More Businesses Using Technology

The survey showed that more businesses are turning to technology to manage their operations. 47% of businesses use four or more technology tools, which is up from last year. Over a quarter of them are now using six or more platforms to handle things like payroll, marketing, and customer support.

For example, Jan Watermann, who owns a marketing agency in Florida, uses AI tools like Jasper AI and SurferSEO to write and optimize content. Jan says that AI helps get work done faster, but human creativity and strategy are still needed to get the best results.

The Future of AI for Small Businesses

As AI technology keeps getting better, more small businesses will start using it to save time, make their operations smoother, and boost productivity. From creating content to managing customer questions, AI tools are helping small businesses save money and grow stronger in today’s competitive world.
